West of Katafyto, the visitor can see the Katafyto dam, an earthen dam with clay core, which was constructed to store surface runoffs to be used in different ways and is fed by the Persek and Sine torrents. The dam is situated at the foot of Mount Orvilos and is covered with lush vegetation and trees of all kinds. All nature lovers are excited when they visit it, as they can take a stroll by the water, have a meal in the wooden kiosks and fill every minute with memories captured in a photo or etched in their mind forever. The small islet in the center of the lake that was created by the dam and is connected to the shore by a wooden footbridge is a must-visit place.
